"What's up with them, hun? That weird pose they do?"
Debby pointed across the plaza to a group of Clover Guild members talking and laughing loudly as they took turns making their odd jokes and gesticulating oddly. For some reason they burst out laughing each time one of them threw their arms diagonally into the air and turned their head in the opposite. Linoone looked up from his lunch to the direction she'd pointed and grinned.
"They're dabbing, Debby." He replied before snorting and whispering under his breath. "Dabby Debby..." He snickered to himself to his boss' evident confusion, which only made him crack up more. It was a rare day when Debby was lost on human behavior. Noticing her displeasure, he collected himself and explained. "It's a pose that got popular in my world. It's supposed to be something you do when you feel accomplished, I guess, but it got memed to death pretty fast."
Debby looked at the group in a mix of amusement and exasperation, but shrugged and returned to her lunch salad with a shrug. "Hoot! I think that takes the cake for the oddest thing I've seen." Linoone wasn't sure if to believe that. She tilted her head and continued. "Y'all ever do somethin' like that, hun?"
Linoone laughed and shrugged. "Maybe a couple times, ironically." His answer was sheepish, it was a little embarrassing admitting to it, but he knew she wouldn't judge. "It's just a dumb joke anyway." He added, just in case.
The pair continued their lunch, chatting away about this and that, and soon it came time to pay and leave. As they were exiting the tavern, Debby stopped at the door and Linoone turned around to ask what was wrong. Her stare caught his words however, and they stood there in silence for a second.
Debby dabbed, feeling triumphant about another great lunch with Linoone.
