>>51548705>>51555539So I continue. The Mars and Jupiter fight was hilariously easy, as they kept targeting my rival the whole time while Magmar swept their teams.
Cyrus actually went quite smoothly-ish. I'll recap it real fast:
>Cyrus leads with Houndoom>Houndoom instantly dies to Close Combat from Infernape>Cyrus sends out Gyarados>Fuck I thought he'd send in Crobat>Switch to Graveler who actually lives the Earthquake (I had no way to know if it was EQ or Waterfall so I couldn't afford to risk Crobat)>No safe switch, sack Graveler. Your death was not in vain, Broccoli.>I send in Jolteon>Thunderbolt OHKOs Water-Onix>Weavile.jpg>"Hmm...He's gonna use Fake Out, huh?">Switch back to Infernape>I was right>Mach Punch smashes it to pieces>Crobat.png>No way he uses Air Slash, too predictable>Switch in Tentacruel to eat Cross Poison>HeUsedAirSlash.gif>Click Ice Beam>I get the fucking freeze>HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA>Free switch to Jolteon>Crobat and Honchkrow get the Electric Chair>Run from Giratina>Leave Distortion World>No new encounters in the Spring Path, Source: Serebii>"You're breaking my balls, Pokémon! God damn it!"I actually had substantially more trouble with the Distortion World puzzles than with Cyrus.
>Note: I will re-iterate that, outside of this playthrough, I have not gone past Wake in a Gen 4 game, let alone completed one. I've been told Platinum is the hardest mainline Pokémon game. The plan now is to EV train this Barboach in Attack and Defense, and have the team in Picrel take on Volkner. Looked up his team, and Infernape with Earthquake can probably do it, but I'd like an insurance policy (which comes with free pivots due to Jolteon's Volt Absorb)
