This idea deserves its own Pokémon hackrom. I remember the hackrom called Pokemon Dreamstone Mysteries, where instead of the starter Pokémon being grass, fire, and water types, the starter are Psychic, Water, and Fighting types.
This case, instead of the starters being grass, fire, and water type, the starters will all be ghost type. Why ghost type? Because ghost type are the only type that are weak to their own type, just like dragon type.
Imagine a story where the beginner trainer wakes up and then arrives at the lab to talk to the professor who wants a starter Pokémon, being grass, fire, and water, but the professor ran out of starters, since they were given to other beginner trainers on other days and the starter Pokémon will be restocked at the lab next month. However, the professor had an idea: instead of waiting a month to get a starter Pokémon, the professor asked the trainer to go to the graveyard and talk to the Hex Maniac to get a starter Pokémon. So the trainer left the lab and went to the graveyard, where he found the Hex Maniac. The trainer told her that he had come from the professor and asked for the starter Pokémon. The Hex Maniac took her briefcase and offered the three starter Pokémon, all of which are ghost type: Gastly, Duskull, and Litwick. Upon choosing one of these starters, the journey begins.
This romhack will be perfect to do Ghostlock challenge. Gastly, Litwick and Duskull has 3 stages evolution.
