>>54565594>Bad in-game model.>>54565605>The model looks derpy as hell>fanart tends to look better because the dress portion stops looking like a big plastic blob/thread
The in-game model looks horrible, doesn't help that the animations for it suck as well. Thanks to the shitty models, shitty animation, and shitty textures/resolution it just looks like a static traffic cone that is hobbling around. It looks much better in fan works even though they are on-model when they show that it's not just a triangle of red fur that hobbles around like a penguin. If GameFreak wasn't a bunch of idiots that couldn't program their way out of a paper bag and only still exist today because they got lucky with Pokemon AND managed to joint hold onto the rights along with Nintendo and Pokemon Co helping them out they would have been long dead. Nearly every 3rd party that has made a Pokemon game has done a better job, too bad that only GameFreak makes the mainstream games.
Delphox would have been much better received if it wasn't debuted on a device with N64 levels of GPU power and a 240p screen from a game made by a company where even that would be overpowered to them. If the game/hardware could have properly shown the fur "dress" it has and made it move like fur would instead of be a static triangular blob people would have had nowhere near as negative a reaction. The default stance of the model just standing upright does not help either, even the official 2D art such as picrel did a much better job by showing it leaning over instead of just standing up straight as a triangle. Would have helped if they dialed back the size of said dress a little too.
Someone once posted an image showing the rigging the model has for it's legs (even though they are not actually there on the model) and the look would have worked out much better if the dress was a little thinner and it wasn't just standing up straight, especially if they could actually animate the fur instead of make it static.
