For the manga's 20th anniversary, the artist drew all the protagonists for a celebratory calendar, featuring everyone's ebin quirky personalities interacting. The character trait that got highlighted for Sapphire's cameo is the fact she can't fucking read. In Japanese she just doesn't know how to read kanji and can read hiragana/katakana, but since standard English only has 1 writing system, this nuance couldn't be completely localized. So Sapphire just comes across as extra retarded in English translations when she can't read what looks like basic ass words. And now she also looks retarded on this calendar cover drawing
