And the pic you are talking to is still purple, the exact hue and saturation of his clothes change a little from one ilustration to other, but the fact his remake design swaps the order of colors and is more consistently purple proves it's intended to be fucking purple, that's why I put those two together, not because I wanted to hide something from you. He went from purple and black (gen 1) to black and purple (gen 3), to green and purple (gen 6) to black and green (gen 7), and at no point he has ever been associated with any color but green by Game Freak.
