>>56399029Contrary to what other anons are saying I think it could work but you'd need to change it around somewhat. Make it a little comedic and have the world really shit on him, he's like the straight man while the world around him is this ridiculous thing with him being the brunt of some jokes; another anon in this thread already suggested something like dry humour to another anon. But he does need a concrete goal, perhaps he really does believe in an afterlife but thinks he's landed in some weird purgatory or hell that he can escape, like he's in a half-way house that he will and does eventually leave.
>hate the idea of the afterlifeReligious SI's are very uncommon but I've found they're usually way more interesting because they have a set of uncompromising beliefs that generates conflict; I've read stuff where a muslim SI is questioned about his prayer habits and odd ways and at the end of the story he decides to accept his execution and a christian SI where he tries to fulfill the idea of martyrdom to the confusion of some people around him. Any SI which believes in a life beyond and isn't afraid of such a truth is automatically more unique than 90% of SI's.
You could write about the evilest nihilistic nigger in the world as long as it's entertaining to read.
