Cain is a difficult man to deal with. Constantly tormented by his brother's murder by his hands, he walks the earth challenging those he encounters in an attempt to reach the same level of strength Abel once aspired to.
Cain's arc takes place after Circe, Grym and Hali have had their awakenings and their story arcs are complete.
Cain's intense drive to become strong enough to reach his brother's goal seems to override his mission for redemption at times and vice versa.
He resents Circe for (unintentionally) humiliating him in a battle a couple of years prior, and takes it upon himself to constantly cross paths with her in order to someday beat her without a single loss in his team.
Cain's team is a mish-mash of Pokémon he obtained, and is a complete set of 6.
Lickilicky, Golisopod, Haxorus, Unfezant, Porygon2 and Scizor make up this team, and serve Cain with unwavering loyalty and brutal efficiency. Their strength and underhanded tactics in battle allow them to often get a severe advantage before the battle has ever had a chance to get going, employing dirty fighting manoeuvres that would make even the gnarliest dark-type blush.
This group is "led" by Cain's Scizor who is named "Abel" After the trainer's brother. Abel is capable of mega evolution, and doesn't hesitate to take charge in battle.
Cain's team are so loyal and strong that their personalities themselves seem to have been unintentionally influenced by their trainer's path, and not in a good way.
Sometimes, it seems like Abel is the one taking charge and leading everyone including Cain on.
But that can't be true, right?
