Hell why am I even having this argument. It was a fucking anime. How retarded did you have to be as a kid to not know anime as a concept was distinctively different from western cartoons. They literally fucking made Toonami as a block on Cartoon Network because of how blatantly different it was as a category in children's entertainment. If you couldn't figure out it was foreign, especially when it became so popular at the peak of Pokemon that everyone was doing racist parodies where characters even straight up speak broken Japanese, then that's really on you dude.
