I used my masterball on articuno, released my charizard because I thought it was sad having to fight for me, and never progressed far enough into victory road to either find mewtwo or fight the elite four. I had the guide, it came with a bunch of little stickers to put into a pokedex grid as you found/captured them but I didn't understand the concept and put them all over the place.
