>>35594365I think it’s because Huskies are considered a “primitive” breed of dog with a high prey-drive, and they are not as dependent on human interaction.
>>35594379I think the “lock jaw” myth comes from the fact that when they bite down on something, they won’t let go even if they are struck or injured. What’s really dangerous about pit bulls is that they often attack without warning or provocation. They’ll just go right into kill-mode for no reason instead of growling or barking, and only attacking as a last resort. Domesticated animals shouldn’t behave like that, but it’s the behavior you would want in a dog bred to fight other dogs.
And yeah, the pit bull advocacy nutters are exacerbating the problem with the “gotta save ‘em all” mentality instead of trying to weed out the aggressive animals. Then they trick unsuspecting owners into adopting potentially dangerous dogs by using baby talk to describe their “behavior and self-confidence issues” on adoption websites. A lot of parents with young kids adopt them because they’re cheap, and they might even have bought into the whole “nanny dog” myth as well. That’s how we wind up with so many dead babies.
>>35594414Yes, but there’s a lot of truth behind it, which is why it’s such a great meme. Pit bulls should unironically be banned.
