A big issue is that our society is geared towards competition, and this creates enmity rather than the cooperation you've laid out in your post. Some people just aren't like that, and are loners by default or introverted, and would rather not the often superficial competitive and oftentimes damaging social strata.
In such case, it's always best to seek out the meaningful relationships which enhance you as a person, and take this approach to any so called "neet" as they are still a human being who wish to be treated as such in most cases.
