I think Pokemon should take a direction and try to refine it to perfection. Open world is one way to go, but I'm not sure they can make games on the scale of Paldea while ALSO putting out games every year. In some ideal world, Pokemon would be like Smash and we'd get one definitive game per gen with spin-offs in-between.
