Personally, I'm happy with Mega Pidgeot even though it's definitely a mixed bag. The utter lack of new moves is painful, but they pretty much aced the stats without minmaxing as hard as Beedrill, and the kiddos will want to use Fly on Pidge even with No Guard. It really is shockingly similar to Tornadus-T, which is slightly concerning because Torn doesn't use a Mega slot, has more moves, and better survivability with Regenerator. That said, I think the perfect accuracy of Hurricane really is a big help, and may be enough to differentiate them. There will be competition, but if the overall performance of Tornadus-T is any indication (banned from RU, considered a decent B+ in both UU and OU), Mega Pidgeot will be perfectly viable if you want to use it. It has a unique gimmick, Heat Wave is back, you can always fiddle around with Roost, Work Up, and U-turn, and it looks mighty fine. Especially that shiny.
Overall, it turned out stronger than I thought it would, just not as great as it could've been. Maybe it'll pick up some moves another day.
