>>42882505Because interactions with your own mon is already limited as it is, we want to interact with them and see them outside of Pokémon battles.
The name of the franchise is Pokémon, not Pokémon Trainers. Following and riding Pokémon shouldn’t be an extra feature, it should be a fucking staple of the series.
Just because the Pokémon world is wasted potential doesn’t mean we want that wasted potential in the games as well.
Seeing trainers with their Pokémon out would make the games way more interesting. If anything, you’d be able to predict which type a trainer uses just by looking at the Pokémon they have and prepare your own mons accordingly.
And a smart developer would put red herring mons to prevent battles from being too predictable. A trainer with his Machop doesn’t mean he’s exclusively a fighting type trainer, nor does it mean he even uses his Machop for Pokémon battles.
My idea is something that could have been easily implemented and is way more interesting than dynamax. Battle gimmicks should never have been a thing. If the battles were stale to begin with, change the fucking format, don’t add shitty temporary gimmicks.
