Last time, I remember people going on how Mega Charizard Y wasn't OU worthy and ended up in UU for a while until it got BL'd. Zard Y doesn't have the flexibility which Zard X has, and its wallbreaking power seems to have windled down since it needs to take into account numerous mons it can't cover simultaneously (Tyranitar, Heatran, Chansey, Toxapex, Mantine, and Chansey) whereas Zard X got Dragon Dance and a superb dual STAB.
