What if gyms were type limited? The first Pokemon would determine the type - a Snorlax would make it a Normal gym that can only have Normal-type defenders and such. Each type would get different types of defender bonuses, such as higher Stamina, higher Attack, higher Defense, faster attack speed, bonus energy gain, starting with energy, etc.
