>>21311505I appreciate the offer, but unless it's a glitch that might break the game I think it's best to leave me in the dark just for sadism purposes.
So I get back to Guardia Town; on the way is a cute little custom minigame where you match up types based off their TCG variants (so Fighting and Ground are combined, Psychic with Poison, etc.), and it seems to be a more overpowered version of Voltorb Flip (made before Voltorb Flip was a thing of course) since you win valuable items for winning but don't get any penalty for losing.
Going north, I find the Wallace guy, named Vincent, talking to his sister Claire. Claire was picked by a Legendary to be a Guardian Trainer, I guess. Since my character also wants to be a Guardian Trainer I suppose I'll get my Legendary eventually.
Claire asks me to battle, and her team consists of Snorunt, Psyduck, Blitzle, and this Fakemon Legendary, Gabrieleon, whom I'm not going to remember isn't named Gabrielmon like a Digimon.
Gabrieleon is definitely OP; it knows Ember, Bite, Headbutt, and Gust, and while the special moves do next to no damage similar to Dark Lugia's Shadow Ball in RoL, Gust and Headbutt OHKO all three of my Pokémon. I had to use both of the Revives I found as well as manipulate the RNG to beat it, since Claire likes healing items a lot. Eventually it goes down thanks to Furbait (part of me wants to just solo the game with Furbait again since it was so strong in RoL, but I got hard-walled by Ghost-types last game so that doesn't sound like the best idea), and Claire goes "darn I lost" and stands there thinking about why a loser like her got picked to be a Guardian.
