I also like the cards themselves just for the art so it doesnt matter if they are playable or not, I will buy a bunch of boosters with every set and sometimes pull something crazy, its fun.
As for the online game I still just troll people with a weezing/Decidueye deck or strategies like that and still extract some fun from it, If I see Mew I just leave no big deal.
My advice is to not take it too seriously or you will get mad, but this goes for every competitive game.
