Pic related is Silvally, its evolution (?) that the rival discovered (Type:Null was a codename, but he gave it the name Silvally when it "evolved"... or in the anime, before it evolved). It turns out that building a strong bond of trust with it allows it to control its power and it no longer needs the helmet. THEN the type changing gimmick starts working.
It was a cool Pokemon, even if SM didn't really do much with it.
