I lived my childhood in one of the poorest rural areas in the rust belt. Homes without electricity or running water, no healthcare, people who literally lived in tin shacks, families who have turned to making meth and moonshine, best job you could get was working in a car factory, ect. There were no bleeding heart NGOs swooping in to throw money at them, barely anyone was getting govt. social programs because they weren't inner city. No help is coming to the people who need it.
