1) Full pandering: Nintendo will keep releasing even more autistic way to interact with your mons, release more and more mons until the cow goes dry, some gameplay tweaks, new popular mons get the megaevo treatment, repeat ad nauseam.
2) Make the series whole: No more pokemon, every fully evoed/single stage pokemon get mega evo, more gameplay tweaks and balance attempts this one is thought, tho.). Amie stays, megaevos are a comeback mechanic now that almost all pokemon have it, more trainer interactions, same tried and true story.
Theres maybe a third one I'm missing.
