Second of all, he's right. Here's the bottom line, the game gives you THREE Time Flutes. That's it. 3 chances to help ease your burden of purifying each pokemon individually.
Anything else is just your damn headcannon, and NOT legit. In other words, cheating. Cheating for "cutting time" or "exploiting a scarce powerful item" in a game--doesn't matter, cheating is cheating.
It doesn't matter what YOU think or how you said "role play", Celebi isn't catchable. Period.
Also, you missed the point again. Celebi has the power of time and recalling memories to other people/pokemon. It recalls the fondest memories of a mon BEFORE it's heart was locked, thus breaking it free.
You, the player, on the other hand, WHEN PLAYING THE GAME PROPERLY, does this process by helping it remember little by little (lowering its shadow gauge) and getting it closer before you use the relic stone to open its heart.
Those are canon facts. Anything else is you role playing shit. Now stop trying to justify your bullshit and just accept the fact you took the easy, cheating route.
I didn't "waste 40 hours purifying them", i enjoyed the process, and I played the game the way it was intended.
The fact that you are in denial about this is pretty autistic.
