Stop. Just stop.
Generation 2 consisted of a bunch of generation 1 pokemon that weren't included in the original games fearing that 190 was too much. Victreebel I believe was the last one to be designed, which so happened to be included in rgby. So Generation 2 was hardly adding on in terms of what pokemon already existed, it just had slightly better mechanics. So I essentially see them as one drawn out generation, and to split them up would be to say that you think pokemon was degraded from the get go.
Every generation introduces pokemon I wouldn't touch with a stick. I remember hating bellsprout and Mr.Mime so much as a kid, and I'm faaairly certain I started playing before most of the people in this thread. And yes, I think there's a bunch 'o' suckage throughout, but on the same token every gen introduces something pretty fuckin awesome. I like the gen VI starters much better than the gen V starters already. And I think Torterra and Feraligatr are better designed than the gen 1 starters.
I think Rhyperior sucks. So I still have a Rhydon in my party, it being one of my favourites. I don't have to evolve it, even knowing it has better stats. The fact that Mewtwo is getting a new forme means that you don't lose anything by putting it into that new forme. It will probably change stat distribution and typing, but base stats will most likely be the same. So you don't have to get that forme. It's an equivalent option in every sense of the word.
Suck. It. Up. Kid.
