I think part of what I enjoyed about Gen 5's designs is that the characters actually seemed to range from late teenagers to young adults. Yeah the gym leaders always varied in age, but the main cast of playable characters + rivals were older than in any other game. For some reason they went back to making them little kids which was disappointing
