Source of warmth, fire, light, able to fly, and big and strong enough to provide protection. Fire typing makes it more cold-resistant, so travelling in the winter would be less hard on us. Nice movepool, so he can cover all sorts of types in a pinch if I have TMs.

Small enough for Charizard to carry the both of us, Heal Bell/Heal Pulse/Wish etc available so Charizard and Audino can always have the first aid they need even if we run out of potionsin the middle of nowhere. Normal-type movepool means it can cover what Charizard can't, including Surfing and other HM stuff.
