I think anyone who finds it the best or worst game is most likely lying to themself out of autistic passion, but ultimately it falls on the better half of the series. I think its mechanical contributions are pretty great, but that its new pokedex and characters are ugly and kinda suck, and while the former criteria will get me to finish a game, the latter criteria really kills its chances of being top tier for me. I can’t say “Oh yeah it’s a perfect take on Pokemon, but all of the new Pokemon are unsightly hideous and the characters are boring fugly fan service” idk about y’all but a game can’t be one of the best with that holding it back. I didn’t mind the crafting or the tasks nearly as much as the autists on this board led me to believe I would, but even then a Pokemon game where the new Pokemon and Pokemon Trainers suck is not a Pokemon game that can ever be higher than middle of the road, I’m sorry bros.
Happy birthday Legends Arceus, you’re not the perfect game, but you were the most fun GF has given us in years, they failed you in terms of your new content and post-launch support, you deserved better. To honor its successes, I shall post one of the three good new Pokemon it gave us.
