If you want to make Psychic better, I would consider the following first:
Make it super effective against Steel (psychics bending spoons)
Give it a resistance to Fairy (psychics are mentally oriented, logical Pokemon generally, don't believe in superstition like fairies).
Still not going to happen but I think it makes more sense flavor-wise and achieves a similar goal balance-wise, without nerfing Dark types (which already have it pretty bad).
