Maybe she could behave like Ash's babysitter if he maintain his "Waku Waku" SM/PM personality but later reveal to be very strong trainer with calculating analytical ability that allow her predict her opponent next move. The more smarter and tactical her opponent is, the most precise her prediction become. Which is why she will be interested in Ash's battling style since she can't tell what Ash going to do next.
I have noticed many adventure anime has a babysitter character such as Bulma (Dragonball), Lucy (Fairy Tail), Nami (One piece) and Misty (Original Pokemon anime)
