For what it's worth, I think Alola has great world building, and a more memorable cast of charactesr than XY. It's really better than most other Pokemon games in that regard. But everything related to gameplay is just dumb. Not just worse than XY, but worse than previous Pokemon games altogether. The tutorials, the post-game, the multiplayer, so much of it is just whatever to me.
