Certain species of mons have a psueotype other than Normal as the natural default. Dhelmise has Steel, Salandit and Corviknight have Dark, Lugia has Water, Flygon has Bug—you get the idea. It's just a tiny additional affinity for a certain Type other than their actual Typing.
