Take for example Ancient Athens, despite their xenophobic streak and metic system, it was a pretty diverse city. It had, for example, a large number of Thracian immigrants, some who ended up marrying Athenian nobility and birthing famous Athenians like Thukydides and Kimon, there was also Persians, other Greeks like Ionians and Dorians, possibly even Aethopians, Karians, Lydians, people from the near east. Even looking at the wider world of the Eastern Mediterranean you see all manners of foreign goods and people traveling all over the place. This is true today as it was 100, 200, 500 or 2,000 years ago.
This is nothing but bile spewed by racist and alt-right types, usually having to do with a perceived "pure" past which is an idealized and invented past. The world has always been diverse and its good for media to mirror this. And to be fair it's fairly inane to get work over it in the context of Pokémon, a setting where race is most likely *not* even a concept that exists in universe. Pokémon is a very international franchise drawing inspiration from fauna, flora and cultures from all over the globe.
These are basically grown bozos crying that people of color are "invading" their *invented* white space, and I don't need to remind you that this is a Japanese video game series. It's pathetic how people are offended over inane things like this, just goes to show how *fragile* white fragility is among alt-right and other racist clowns.
