But they're still the overall shittiest batch of starters anyway. So your challenge is, change the Gen V starters while keeping your mind around this theme.
I'd swap out the Tepig line for a Coyote-like Fire/Dark line. Coyotes are from the Americas, and it can follow native American myth of being a trickster figure.
Serperior and Samurott can stay mostly the same, except giving Psychic to Serperior, Fighting to Samurott and expanding their movepools, of course.
