I literally basedfaced at the GBC while screaming "ITS RED" "IT HAS THE PIKACHU!!!". My first game was Yellow so you can imagine the surprise.
It took me a lot to beat him. I don't remember how much but I do remember having dreams about defeating him and everyone appearing to congratulate me, including Misty, Brock and Tracy, and unlocking more floors on Mt. Silver with Prof Oak and Mewtwo.
One day I finally defeated him. It was a tense moment, I didn't know what was gonna happen next. Then the credits rolled. I screamed I WON!!! and started crying of joy. Probably the most innocent and happiest moment in my entire life. I remember staring at the "The end" screen for what could have been an eternity.
I still tear up a little when I remember the credits roll and "The End" music.
