I caught up recently with HZ and I was worried about Liko being a doormat or a non battler protagonist (given some posts I've been reading here) but I didn't see her as that. I do think that she is very passive at the beginning but I can understand that because of her personality and being and newbie trainer. I appreciated that it was recognized as a character flaw later on. I also like that Liko is great at observing the environment and make strategies out of that during battles, it's fitting for an "introverted shy" kind of character. The main trio as a whole is getting bits of development even though it can feel very slow mostly because of the anipoke format.
