Volkner not having a z ring makes it really weird. If Volkner makes up for it by just being that much stronger normally, then it feels like a cheap win by Ash. If they motor drive the z move, it feels unsatisfying with all of that buildup. I really don’t know how its going to be handled. However I do have faith in Tomioka, and since Iwane is on this episode I’m expecting a bunch of sasuga.
I feel like the Z ring is symbolic in a way: Ash is moving on to a new stage, where every match is televised and scheduled in advance. He realizes that the way he’s been coasting along so far isn’t going to cut it, and he need to bring everything he’s got to the table. I don’t believe he’ll use the Z-Ring after this but yeah
