Have any Pokemon ever come to you as a complete surprise, /vp/? (Try to refrain from gen 1/2 stories, unless they're something spectacular. We all have stories where we shat ourselves the first time we found the bird trio)
>Beldum/Metagross
So, I really liked Steven, during this gen. He was one cool motherfucker. So, naturally, the first thing I did after beating the Elite Four was go to my nigga's house. To my surprise, he wasn't there, but a Pokeball was. I picked it up, and lo-and-behold, there was Beldum. I'd never seen Beldum in the anime, my friends had never talked about him, and I'd been completely in the dark about him this whole time. I remembered the fight with Steven in the Elite Four, and recalled he had some badass steel-type, four-legged, psychic monstrosity, that kind of reminded me of beldum. I was ECSTATIC. For a kid my age, this was the god damn coolest thing ever. All of my friends were going to shit themselves. I was disappointed with Metang (mostly because I thought the "nose" spike looked silly), but Metagross and I were bros4lyfe. It makes me really sad that he's lost his dark/ghost resistance. He's probably going to drop a few tiers, or something, and I really dislike that. ;_;
>Giratina
Unlike my experience with Beldum, when I had Pearl, I also had the internet at my disposal. However, I had heard NOTHING about Turnback cave, and the spring path, somehow, which really piqued my curiosity. When I found out that I had to obtain the National Dex, I was pissed. It was a lot of work, but I managed it, and eventually gained access to Turnback cave. After quite a while of trying to figure out the cave's puzzle, I managed it, and there was Giratina. I had never seen of, or even heard of this Pokemon, EVER, so I was hyped. Something about how I'd never heard of Giratina before now, even though I had access to the internet made the experience just THAT much more magical for me.
