>>46883317>RocketVery grounded motivations in a fantasy setting was really cool. If Giovanni wasn't such a jobber (dude click Surf that we handed you 5 times) they'd be perfect.
>Rocket-JohtoSeparating them because it's unfair to lump based Kanto Rocket in with the travesty that was Johto's ''''plot''''. They were so utterly non-threatening, and their master plan boiled down to making a phone call... which they failed.
>Magma/AquaRidiculous cartoon motives based around a false-dichtomy that baffled me even as a kid.
>GalacticPretty similar to Magma/Aqua I guess but their plan was a more high-stakes, and Cyrus was pretty clearly unhinged. Fit the more 'epic' tone that Gen IV was going for.
>PlasmaThese guys were great. Ghetsis is a based pure-evil antagonist alongside N's redemption, and watching the team fracture in half and fight among themselves in the sequel was fun.
>FlareAwesome designs. That's about it lol
>SkullPeople spent years begging GF for a more grounded villain team, then complained about Skull in Gen 7. I fucking love these dudes. They're hilarious in every interaction, and Guzma is based beyond comprehension. Top tier
>Aether FoundationI don't even count these guys as villains desu, 99% of the 'team' are just charity workers who have no idea their boss is insane.
Haven't played Gen 8
Cipher are cool, if just for their theme song and Miror B. But if we're going by spin-offs then nothing tops the Go Rock Quads from Ranger.
Overall
Go Rock Quads > Skull > Rocket > Plasma > Galactic > Flare > Magma/Aqua > Neo-Rocket
