We've had cosmetic forms like Florges and Minior, stat-based forms like Gourgeist and Lycanroc, alternate movepools like Meowstic and Lycanroc, alternate typings like Oricorio, and all of them together with regional variants.
I'm expecting 12 new regional variants, at least one new pokemon with cosmetic forms, and one pokemon that has form variants with either alternate typings or movepools (or both)
The actually totally brand new pokemon count will be under 90
The post-game battle facility will make the Maison and Tree look like a godsend.
The existing pokemon amiibos for Smash Bros will have absolutely no use, for better or worse. The next pair of games (remakes, 3rd version, whatever) might have amiibo support, but dont bet on it.
