I fully support your idea and yes, he didn't actually give up, just taking a break and figuring out what to do next, based on his dialog. Making Kieran a yandere too adds even more depth to this, good job. Florian and Kieran both being unhinged in their own way adds a lot of flavor to a ship that's already amazing.
