The command comes as too close a call. Noibat puts up a protective wall that just barely saves him from being annihilated to pieces, even you thought you had been too late. Dragon Pulse strikes Protect's shield, trying hard to pierce it, but to no avail.
Dragon Pulse eventually comes to a close, but so does Protect. Forced to endure a turn before resorting to protection once again, Noibat gives himself good reason to get the fuck up and skidaddle before Altaria can attack again.
"Altaria, don't let the young child get away! Ice Beam!"
