I'm glad the conversation interest you, no reason why we can't be civil adults. But, what gives you the impression of more "radical" plans being had? No country is fully "free" nor perfect, there is a social contract where we sacrifice our basic impulses for the greater good. At least I'd like to believe such. Our point of contention is just how much collectivism should be allotted vs individualistic desire, and what is a right; ie healthcare.
