Megas would be better if they had given it to more underused/underpowered Pokemon, rather than shotgun blasting it across the dex.
In a perfect world, we would've gotten less OP megas, more Megas in general, and some kind of subplot about how Mega Evolution was created when some literal lapdog shitmon had to protect their trainer from a deadly attack and there was some funky rocks nearby and POOF Mega Evolution.
