They seemed very hung up on the idea that children have limited attention spans, so instead of trying to make something engaging to beat that "limitation" they used it as an excuse to cut corners. That's like boomer tier logic right there.
I'd like to hope that younger staff would have newer ideas and allow the series to truly flourish. Hopefully. Knowing GF's luck as a whole though it'd probably turn into lootboxes somehow...
