>>50408160It's a result of this saga shying away from longer story arcs and trying to keep viewer attention with 'OOOH LOOK IT'S COMEDY! LOOK AT COMEDY! DON'T YOU LIKE COMEDY????' episodes. Just look at all the missed opportunities they had to get a real character arc going, which were wrapped up in an episode (maybe two) or just ignored so it could be dealt with later, so as to not 'bore' their viewers with storytelling. Previous sagas would usually have longer story arcs, and tie those arcs with each other to create an ongoing narrative.
But hey, what'd you expect from a saga designed for a target demographic that, according to the creators, has a nonexistent attention span and completely nonfunctioning brains? They're only catering to older fans through botched and lazy 'fanservice', rather than trying to make something that tries to appeal to all ages.
