He'd get pretty pissed pretty quickly, he's protective and would be quick to defend. Depending on the situation, he might want yell or punch the person out as his temper flares, but I'd convince him that it's not worth it and he'd back down, but still be irritated and grumpy about it. He would definitely hold onto a grudge against them for a while on my behalf.
If someone insulted him in front of me, I'd defend him and call the person out on it and try to remove ourselves from the situation. I think he would still react defensively angry at first, but depending on what was said, might mope about it later in private. I'd do my best to cheer him up and to not let him take it too personally. His Mabosstiff would growl and step in to defend him against whoever it was that insulted him too.
It's the Pokemon world, insults and arguments can always be resolved with a Pokemon battle if they need to be as well. Though in both cases, I'm the one fighting lol.
