>>53144681The Wayward Soul is absolutely not a joyful book and I can't fault you for being disinterested about a protagonist in a tragedy when you're looking for something bubblier. I have considered writing an Expedition Society origin series which would be more akin to treasure hunting romps with an Ampharos Indiana Jones, but I never found the time to get around to it. The lighter the tone, the more I'd probably have to rely on secondary plots (like loading up Ampharos and Mawile with romantic tension) in order to feel inspired to write it. Otherwise I fail to feel invested in too soft a conflict.
