And the reason you need the Silph Scope plot-wise was so you can defeat the Marowak Ghost, so you can free Mr. Fuji, so you can get the Poke Flute, so you can remove the roadblock Snorlaxes, right?
If they remove the Silph Scope entirely, it completely removes the need to enter the Rocket Hideout, since you can skip straight to getting the Poke Flute from Mr. Fuji. (Which is exactly what the Poke Doll glitch (toss a Poke Doll at the Marowak Ghost to fool it into thinking it's been defeated) does, yes, but that's a sequence-break glitch.)
Maybe they'll remove the unidentifiable ghost from the Gastlies and Haunters, but they definitely still need you to have some sort of key item obtained from the Rocket Hideout in order to defeat the Marowak Ghost. Unless...
...You don't think they'll canonize the Poke Doll Glitch, do you? Have you get some sort of doll from the arcade that you can use to appease the Marowak...
