When someone says they like a shillmon like Charizard or Lucario, they're basically saying "I can't think for myself, I like this Pokemon because Gamefreak told me to like this Pokemon."
This is fine when you're a child, but if you're over the age of 18 (which you probably aren't) and you haven't developed enough taste to fall for the hundreds of much more inspired, much more impressive Pokemon designs, there's no helping you.
