It represents absolutely everything that is missing from every gen after gen1 and 2. Down to earth, humble, realistically proportioned, bland toned, simply coloured, low contrast, world building pokemon that link that world to the real world and lets the unique, the bizarre, the cool and the fan favourites be what they are without being over-designed abominations and having to compete for attention with literally every every other pokemon on the roster.

Wasted slot to be honest, why that needed to be a 3 step evolution i don't know. Could have made Kangaskahn or pinsir or any other single into a fun 2 step evolution
